SICA Scoring Methodology

Purpose of the SICA score

The SICA score is a directory comparison aid. It is not a state licence decision, certification, warranty, endorsement, or prediction of project outcome.

Evidence categories

Profiles may use available licensing identifiers, public review volume and rating, business-detail completeness, data freshness, complaint information when a reliable source exists, and documented longevity. Missing evidence is labelled as unavailable and is not converted into a verified claim.

Source hierarchy

  1. Government and regulator records.
  2. First-party business documents and official websites.
  3. Named third-party platforms for review signals.
  4. Editorially reviewed secondary research for contextual guidance.

Limitations

Sources update on different schedules. Homeowners should independently confirm licence, insurance, contract terms, warranties, interconnection requirements, and incentive eligibility before hiring a company.
